SERMON TITLE: FROM THE GATE TO THE THRONE: Enforcing the Victory
Foundation Scripture
Genesis 22:17 (KJV)
"That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies."
Introduction: The Promise is Possession
Last night, we stationed ourselves at the gate. We learned that we must not sleep; we must defend our destiny. But I have a question for you this morning: What is the point of guarding a gate if you never intend to walk through it and possess the land?
The promise of God to Abraham was not just to have children. The peak of the blessing was this: "Thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies." God doesn't want you standing outside the gate looking in; He wants you to seize the gate and take the city! Today, we are moving from defensive guarding to offensive possessing.
Part 1: The Law of Prevailing at the Gate
In the prayer room, we spoke to the enemies at the gate. Today, we legislate. The gate is the control center. Whoever owns the gate dictates the culture, the economy, and the flow of the spirit. We are taking back control.
Judges 5:8
"They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?"
When Israel abandoned God, war came to their gates. The gates that were supposed to be places of praise became places of battle. But when we return to the Lord, the battle shifts. We carry the war to the enemy's gate.
The Biblical Pattern (Esther)
Mordecai did not just hover around the gate. He possessed it. And when Haman came, the gate became a place of legal transfer of authority. Haman's power ended at the gate, and Mordecai's royalty began at the gate.
Esther 6:10
"And the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken."
Momentum Shift
Last night, we declared we are watchmen. Today, we declare we are more than watchmen—we are the legal owners of the gates.
Part 2: The Weapon of the Two-Edged Sword (Executing Judgment)
To possess the gate, you cannot have empty hands. You need a weapon that silences the enemy and enforces originality. That weapon is the High Praises of God and the sharp Word.
Psalm 149:5-9
"Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD."
Look at the progression:
1. High Praises in the mouth.
2. Two-edged Sword in the hand (The Word).
3. Result: Binding kings and executing judgment.
The enemy wants to chain your family at the gate of poverty. Today, we reverse the order. We bind the strongman at the gate using the Word!
Jeremiah 23:29
"Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?"

"You rock of stagnation at the gate of my breakthrough, hear the hammer of the Word: Be broken!"
Part 3: Samaria’s Gate – The Leap of Faith
This is for those tired of sitting at the gate watching the enemy feast while you starve. The momentum must increase because there is a sound of abundance.
2 Kings 7:1-3 (The Lepers at the Gate)
"Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel... Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate..."
The unbelieving lord was trampled at the gate. But the lepers—the outcasts—decided to take a risk of faith. They got up and went to the enemy's camp. Notice: Victory in the enemy's camp proceeded breakthrough in the town.
Application
Stop looking at the famine. Start listening to the prophecy! The King of Glory is passing by the gate of your heart, your family, and Nigeria. Don't stay inside the gate in unbelief; step out in faith to possess the abundance.
Part 4: The Gate of the Throne (Becoming the Entrance for Glory)
We are not just fighting for survival at the gate; we are becoming the gate! We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. When you become a Gate Keeper, your prayer life becomes the "King's Gate" where decisions are made and protocols are broken.
Ezekiel 44:1-3
"Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD..."
Because the Lord entered that gate, it was sealed from the enemy. You are that shut gate! Sin, sickness, and death cannot come in because the Prince of Peace is sitting inside. But you must sit there and eat the bread (the Word).
John 10:7
"Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep."
Jesus is the Gate. We are in Him. Because He is seated at the right hand of the Father, we are seated with Him. The gate of your destiny is not on ground level; it is in the heavenly places.
The Impartation of the Key (Conclusion)
Last night, we woke up the watchman. Today, we take the key. The Key of David unlocks what no man can shut, and shuts what no man can open.
Isaiah 22:22
"And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open."
Revelation 3:7-8
"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name."
Because you did not deny His name in your midnight prayers, He is setting an open door before you today.
The Gate is open! Walk in! Take your healing! Take your job! Take your salvation! Take Nigeria!
Bible-Based Prayer Points: "Possessing The Gate"
(Lead these with high intensity. Encourage the congregation to shout, march in place, or lift hands violently as led by the Spirit.)
1. Prayer of Thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4)
"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise."
Action: Father, we refuse to approach the gate with complaints. We lift up the ancient doors with a sacrifice of praise. We thank You for the testimony before we see it.
2. Prayer to Recover Stolen Inheritance (1 Samuel 30:18-19)
"And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away... there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great... David recovered all."
Action: Every gatekeeper of darkness holding my inheritance of health, my marital destiny, and my financial breakthrough—I charge you by fire: Release my goods and collapse!
3. Prayer Against Anti-Destiny Voices (Ezekiel 21:22)
"At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates..."
Action: We silence every divination speaking failure against our nation's gate. Every enchantment and spell against Nigeria's peace and progress, we scatter you by the blood of the Lamb.
4. Prayer for the Opening of Pregnant Gates (Micah 2:13)
"The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them."
Action: Jesus, the Breaker! Go before my family now. Break the gate of brass and cut the bars of iron in sunder. Every family gate that has been locked by death and witchcraft—BREAK OPEN NOW!
5. Prayer for the Nation (Psalm 24:7-10)
"Lift up your heads, O ye gates..."
Action: We prophesy to the gates of [Your Country/Nigeria]: Lift up your heads! You political gates, you economic gates, you religious gates, receive the King of Glory! We command the expulsion of every evil strongman from the gates of our land.
Final Charge and Doxology
You are not just a Gate Keeper; you are a History Maker.
When you possess the gate, you decide who enters your city.
Guard it with prayer. Open it with praise. The victory is already won. Go and manifest!
